Feline herpes virus type 1 (FHV-1) is a common feline pathogen. It can cause upper respiratory disease, conjunctivitis, and ocular disease. According to a study by Fascetti et al., oral administration of Lysine to cats infected with FHV-1 is associated with a significant reduction in the severity of clinical signs and basal viral shedding.
